Fundraising Events
Fundraising events provide most of DSAMT’s programming revenue, and it takes a great team of volunteers and donors to make them possible.
Caleb Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament
The 2011 Caleb Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament, presented by North America Administrators, held at Vanderbilt Legends Club on June 9, was a wonderful success. The event raised approximately 10 thousand dollars, and DSAMT would like to thank Event Chair Karen Dugan and Paul Thompson and his family. Special thanks to our sponsors North America Administrators, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Health Spring, Immanuel Baptist Church, Nashville Fire Fighters Local, Beasley Family Foundation, and International Assurance of Tennessee.
The annual Caleb Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament was created by DSAMT member Paul Thompson to honor the memory of his son, Caleb and to raise funds to support DSAMT. Caleb was born in 2003 and passed away in 2004 from heart complications, but his memory is celebrated each year at the golf tournament.

Sip n' Savor
The Sip n' Savor is an evening of food and wine benefiting DSAMT. This year’s event was held Friday, December 2, 2011 at Mere Bulles Restaurant in Brentwood, Tennessee. The evening was filled with live entertainment, featuring The Dean Martini’s, along with a great pairing of food and wine featuring four wines from the Laird Family Estate Winery.

Buddy Walk
We had an amazing time at the 14th annual Buddy Walk, which took place Saturday, October 22 at Centennial Park. This year's event featured many fun new surprises and prizes. One big change was the location - instead of meeting in the bandshell area, the Buddy Walk will be headquartered on the Parthenon Lawn. The event was MCed by WSMV's Rudy Kalis, and wonderful musical entertainment was provided by The Blues Brokers. To learn all event details, click here to be linked to our special Buddy Walk page.

Awareness Events
Awareness events allow DSAMT to celebrate our friends and family members who have Down syndrome and spread knowledge about their abilities to the Tennessee community.
Tennessee Autumn Prom
DSAMT is excited to partner once again with the Pujols Family Foundation to host the second annual Tennessee Autumn Prom on Friday, October 21, the night before the 2011 Buddy Walk. The Autumn Prom is a very special, formal, invitation-only event where people with Down syndrome are truly the stars of the evening. There was a red carpet, fabulous food, live music provided by the Bicho Brothers, and dancing all night long.
Individuals ages 16 and up who have Down syndrome are invited to attend along with one guest each. We have gathered a mailing list of individuals in Tennessee ages 16 and up who have Down syndrome. If someone you know is age 16 and up and has Down syndrome, and you would like them to receive an invitation for next year's prom, please contact DSAMT at dsamt@bellsouth.net.
